The award-winning spa, which must surely be one of the most unique and unusual spas in Africa, boasts a welcome lounge, two beautiful therapy suites with en-suite sensation showers, and a private garden.
On arrival at the welcome lounge, guests can help themselves to home-made smoothies, seasonal fruit and fresh lemon-flavoured water before their treatments in either the private or double therapy suites, or an outdoor tsala.
Each of the new therapy suites has its own ‘sensation’ shower with overhead colour therapy lights, which work together to take you on a sensory hydrotherapy journey from rain to rainstorm and then to a Kalahari rain dance.
In keeping with the spa’s philosophy of ‘nature above man’ the new spa has natural finishes throughout, including screeded floors, wooden window frames and doors, reed ceilings, and dry-stone walls in the indoor and outdoor showers. Colours are cool and neutral to create a haven of peace and tranquillity, and an escape from the Kalahari sun.
The spa opens onto a private indigenous garden with a labyrinth, an outdoor patio, outdoor treatment tsalas and a yoga tsala. A short walk away is the new gym with its state of the art equipment and beautiful views across the Tswalu landscape. The spa has also just launched its new treatment menu which includes a unique selection of treatments and authentic signature experiences inspired by the natural wonders of the Green Kalahari with its endless blue skies and unique vegetation

The new gym has been built a short distance from the refurbished spa at The Motse, and is located in a spot which maximises the views through its huge glass windows. The gym looks onto the savannah landscapes surrounding the lodge and guests can watch the wildlife making their way down to the water hole to drink.
The gym’s brand new Technogym® equipment includes a Spaczio Forma treadmill, Forma bike, Unica multi-function strength trainer and rowing machine. There are also free weights and plenty of floor space for stretching and toning.
Guests have the option of a fully air-conditioned environment with television, or the fresh Kalahari air through the folding windows.
After your workout, cool down in the stone-clad outdoor shower with its panoramic Kalahari vistas.
Guests can now participate in yoga classes at a time of their choice, in either the tsala overlooking the watering hole, or the cool comfort and privacy of their own suites.
Emerge yourself fully into a practice which delivers a feeling of unity and relaxation, taking your holiday to the next level. Surrounded by the great expanses and endless skies of the unique Kalahari environment, stretch, strengthen, relax and enjoy a sense of increased awareness, vitality and inner peace.
Tswalu’s yoga classes are suitable for all levels of experience, from novices to gurus and yoga mats are provided.
