Tswalu was outstanding

Shally Venugopal and Indivar Dutta Gupta, United States

The service was unbelievable, only surpassed by the amazing food (I have never met a chef so passionate about her food and going above and beyond her call of duty), the luxurious rooms and wonderful landscapes.  We saw a ton of animals everywhere everyday, including some very rare sightings of black rhinos, large prides of female lions, and up close with bands of 25 meerkats (not to mention the many antelope, buffalo, giraffe, birds and nocturnal creatures).  We also heard from the staff that spring, fall and summer are completely different (which means we may have to visit again soon!).  The best part of it was that because of the large size of the reserve we did not see any other game vehicles while we were driving, which really added a lot to the privacy and exclusivity of the place.  The reserve’s dedication to conservation is probably unparalleled in the region from all that we heard.  We really respected that since the focus was on observing the animals in their natural state and habitat, rather than finding the best way for guests to get up close and take photographs.

Simply spectacular

The Masterson Family, Johannesburg, South Africa

Everything (said in unison by the entire family!) was a highlight. The staff were so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The scenery simply spectacular.

A little slice of heaven

Doug and Johanna, Australia

These were our first 3 nights in Africa ever. Tswalu - the accommodation, reserve, animals and people have left me speechless. A little slice of heaven. So luxurious and special in such an environmentally friendly way.

Far better than could be imagined

Ian and Caroline Connack

Better than expected, far better than could be imagined. The landscape (especially after the rains had produced such lush grasses) meant our experience here has been quite magical. Every vista breathtaking - with animals as a bonus. Even for experienced bush people, Tswalu is still heart-stoppingly lovely. A marvellous guide and scout simply added to the magic - and to our knowledge. Wonderful food, care and staff left us utterly spoiled.

We are still in awe

Bob and Berie Grobe, San Diego California

We can say all of the good things that others have said but a special thanks to our ranger who gave us an experience that few people will ever have - closely watching the transfer of a Black Rhino and even being able to touch the rare animal - we are still in awe! This is on our list of “come back” places in South Africa.
