A persistent tapping on the door pulls me, reluctantly, from the depths of my sleep. It’s 5am, the average rise-and-shine time while on safari. Time for a quick coffee before we hit the road, or should I say, make tracks. I’m about to experience the dramatic terrain of the Tswalu Kalahari Reserve, 100,000 hectares of former farmland that has been transformed into a conservation area.
