Mountain Dining

One of the most memorable sights is the spectacular view from the Lekgaba lookout (Mountain lookout). Here, a comfortable thatch covered lookout has been built into the mountainside with amenities for guests to refresh themselves after a morning's game viewing. Brunch is cooked in the boma and served in the large dining room, which opens out onto a viewing deck. The panorama is awesome, with Tswalu stretching as far as the eye can see on every side. Few fail to be touched by magnificence of the landscape, the brightness of the sky, the smell of clean air and the deafening sound of silence!

Star Gazing

The vastness of the Kalahari night sky and close proximity of the stars is an experience that truly touches the soul. In the pure air of this captivating place the stars seem within easy reach, with the Southern Cross, many planets and constellations clearly visible. Through Tswalu's high-power telescope guests may explore the Milky Way and dazzling star formations and lose themselves in the magnificence of the southern sky.

Here, one is not only conscious of the enormity of the universe, but also challenged by how small we are in the grand scheme of things, which can be, for some, a mystical and deeply emotional experience.
